Threads & Shirts was founded in 2015 by Anisha Chaudhari as an experiential store for custom-tailored shirts in Mumbai, India. As a young professional, Anisha could not find the perfect clothing for her career as a financial professional, so she created a brand that catered to a similar target audience who were searching for a well-fitted shirt. Her passion was the true driving force behind Threads & Shirts, as the name suggests, T&S was modelled on a freshly tailored structure where a personalised approach was provided to creating a luxury shirt experience.
Threads & Shirts was launched through a brick-and-mortar store and then moved on to an online store. Clients could experience creating their shirts through a fun and exciting process of choosing every aspect of the shirt-making process. This experience enabled the customer to choose their style, like opting for their favourite type of collar, cuff, buttons, fit, and base fabric. Then the customer would undergo a measurement process by the head tailor to make sure that a perfect fit was provided at the end of the designing process.
